Revenue Agency: security update of Data Interchange System – Changes to be implemented by 31st May 2021

The Revenue Agency has updated the hash and encryption algorithm by defining the signing certificate and the encryption of IT documents exchange with users.

The minimum requirements, present on website, are:

  • hash algorithm: SHA-256;
  • key length RSA:4096 (encryption) and 4096/2048 (signature)
  • encryption algorithm: AES-256
  • In the context of the Data Interchange System (SID), this fact generates these consequences:
  • for the users in input and output cooperative services

All systems exchange information with the Revenue Agency s will have to adapt to the  requirements by 31st May 2021.

The users, don’t use applications made available by the Revenue Agency, will be contacted by the cryptographic service group of Sogei to agree the renewal and the replacing of the service certificates used in the Data Interchange System

The users of service IT cooperation will be contacted by the cryptographic service group of Sogei that will be contacted each technical representative to agree:

  • the delivery of new RSA keys with a lengh of 4096 bit;
  • the data switch of new standard.
