Update of the Regulation ECB/2020/59 on payments statistics
The new Regulation ECB/2020/59 concerning statistics on the payments includes data of fraud and useful requirements for the balance of payments and the economic research.
The Bank of Italy, with a communication to individual intermediaries, declared Banks, Payment Institutions and payment Service Providers will have to adapt their information systems from 1st January 2022; the new reporting will be submitted to the Bank of Italy on a quarterly basis from first quarter 2022.
The Supervisory Authority is preparing the reporting framework (of public consultation) to use to the data collection. This framework will incorporate data of Fraud reporting and the “base EBAF” used to their production will be disabled after the reporting of 31st December 2021.
The updated regulation will incorporate the changes introduced by the revision of the Regulation ECB/2020/59 concerning statistics on the balance of the Monetary Financial Institutions.
The Bank of Italy recommend to intermediaries to strengthen the system of prior checking of the data to send and to guarantee prompt reply for clarification and rectify data.
