Central Credit Register: no reporting for guarantees issued by the “Central Guarantee Fund for SMEs”

Bank of Italy, in its June 30 press release, provided clarifications on reporting to the Central Credit Register – Guarantees issued by the “Central Guarantee Fund for SMEs”, following a number of questions about the need to report the aforementioned guarantees, taking into account the expiration of the Temporary Framework on June 30, 2022 and the entry into force of the interim regime dictated by Article 1, paragraph 55 of Law No. 234 of December 30, 2021 (Budget Law 2022).

This rule stipulates that from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022, the maximum amount guaranteed per individual enterprise by the Central SME Guarantee Fund is 5 million euros.

As a continuation of the regime provided until June 30, 2022, pending the intermediate administration provided by the 2022Budget Law, guarantees granted by the Central Guarantee Fund for SMEs do not require reporting in the Central Risk Register, among the guarantees received.
