Central Credit Register: the disapplication of cure period for Non-Performing Loans

The Bank of Italy has established cure period does not apply for the non-performing exposures regarding the Central Credit Register reporting.

The Non-Performing Loans have to be reclassified in census loans’s category, without waiting for three months provided for in paragraph 71 (a) of Guidelines.

It’s noted a misalignment between the criteria to use to the Central Credit Register and Supervisory Reporting as stated by the Circular no. 272 –Matrice dei conti, page B.7, e la Circolare no. 217 Manuale per la compilazione delle Segnalazioni di Vigilanza per gli Intermediari Finanziari, per gli Istituti di pagamento e per gli IMEL page 24.

The Supervisory Authority proposes to take no action to mange the misalignment between Central Credit Register and Supervisory Reporting in the PUMA documentation and to get infomation for problem analysis.

Banks and Financial Intermediares can provide their consideration until 9th april 2021 through the trade associations.
